Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) includes the practice of acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, guasha, and much more. TCM can help correct imbalances within the body that cause many conditions such as gastrointestinal complaints, insomnia, stress, anxiety, dermatological conditions, and hormone irregularities. Our acupuncturist focuses on sports and orthopedic acupuncture, using motor and trigger point needling techniques to “reset” affected muscle spindle fibers. This teaches the body to maintain a balance between its opposing muscle groups, maintain strength and tone of muscle, and allow the nervous system to maintain optimal function. These techniques decrease pain, improve range of motion and reduce muscle inhibition.

Kinesiology

Kinesiologists focus on evaluating movement patterns, prescribing tailored exercise treatments, and assisting Physiotherapy Active Play Programs. Help find what is limiting your movement and ability, and gather the necessary tools to maintain good health.

My physiotherapy practice is deeply rooted in my personal discoveries as a nature lover, totally fascinated by the human body and continuously curious about the way it can change and adapt. I have also gained various perspectives through continuous learning on a variety of topics such as Manual Therapy, Dry Needling, management of TMJ conditions and pain science. I now combine all of these skills through the use of the Integrated Systems Model which allows me to assess each individual from a whole-body perspective and deliver a highly personalized treatment plan that takes into consideration the uniqueness of our bodies, our past experiences and our goals. Outside of a relentless desire to help others, I value the human connection that my role brings and I hope to inspire others to lead a life that is not only fulfilling but one that fosters resiliency, adaptation and growth.

Currently not accepting new patients I am a Nova Scotian turned BCite. I moved out for the mountains and outdoor sports. I am an outdoor enthusiast and I enjoy mountain biking (downhill and cross country), skate skiing, snowboarding, and trail running. I love the Okanagan because each season brings a new sport.

Prairie transplant (Saskatoon and Lloydminster, SK) to orchard country (Lake Country, BC), I have worked in private practice physiotherapy since 2017. Since 2021 I have used Diane Lee’s Integrated Systems Model (ISM) as the foundation for my practice. This clinical reasoning framework allows practitioners ‘find the driver’ behind acute and chronic injury and pain which is why I love it. I have also been teaching Pilates since 2007 and use this exercise repertoire with many of my clients. I have completed my Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Syllabus Level 3 Upper and Level 2 Lower and also hold a K-Taping Pro Certificate.

Preceding my family’s relocation to the Okanagan, I practised as a Physical Therapist in the Lloydminster Hospital Inpatient and Outpatient therapy departments for two years.

I obtained Master of Physical Therapy (2015) and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2006) degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and I am a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (2006).

Before completing my Masters, I worked as an Exercise Therapist in both chronic disease management and physiotherapy clinic settings. I also owned and operated a Pilates and Highland Dance studio from which my devotion to integrative methodology is rooted.

A life-long learner and professional development devotee, I am perpetually registered in courses that hone my therapy skills, namely manual therapy, neurodynmics, running analysis and taping.

Outside the clinic and studio, I enjoy trying new physical activities. I started playing hockey on a women’s team in rural Saskatchewan in an attempt to impress my two hockey-crazed sons and their coach, (my husband) Ashley. I also learned to row, attending the 2016 Masters Rowing Championship in Regina with the resurgent Lloydminster Rowing Club.

I have a passion for performing arts, physical activity and sport, respecting the powerful synergy between physical participation and well-being at every age.

I am excited to join the team at Habitat health to work alongside and collaborate with a well-rounded group of holistic practitioners. I relocated to Coldstream with my family in 2020 in search of a more balanced lifestyle surrounded by nature. So far, we have not been disappointed!

After a decade of practice, being a chiropractor continues to bring so much joy to my life. I love being part of my patient’s health journey and am always looking for new ways to inspire and motivate even the most challenging cases.

I enjoy working with people of all ages and I have a special interest and extra training in pre/postnatal, pediatric and family wellness care. I have worked closely with the La Leche league, midwives and lactation consultants over the past several years. I am an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and Webster Technique Certified.

My treatment style utilizes several different techniques and is dependant on patient preference and what I believe will help you attain your goals. I generally use a combination of gentle traditional chiropractic adjustments and drop table adjustments. Most appointments will include some soft tissue work and/or cranial work. I am trained in Active Release Technique and Graston technique. Fun fact - I am certified in animal chiropractic and have spent several years adjusting horses and dogs. Humans aren’t the only ones that benefit from chiropractic care!

I am a wild soul who loves to wander. Whether it’s wandering the local trails, traveling the world with my husband, or walking alongside you on the journey with your body. My approach is integrative, inclusive and trauma informed. It’s my goal to create an environment where you feel safe to navigate your pain and step back into harmony and wholeness with all of who you are - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Through curiosity and a passion for growth I have learned that there is an art to healing and returning to wholeness requires a unique and individualized path. It’s why since graduating in 2011 with my Master’s in Physical Therapy I have wandered into the wilderness of healing and walked out with a unique blend of knowledge. When we collaborate on your care I will combine my understanding of acupuncture, intuitive energy work, somatoemotional release, craniosacral, pelvic floor and traditional physiotherapies to bridge the gap between where you are and where you desire to be.

In my eyes, embodying and stepping into true health is an ever evolving journey and I look forward to walking with you on yours.
